We Receive Christ Through Faith

We receive Christ through faith “By grace, you have been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God; not as a result of works, that no one should boast” (Ephesians 2:8, 9). Although we may never be perfect, we can be in God’s perfect love. There is no doubt about it — God’s love lasts forever. Nothing can separate you from the love of God. We separate ourselves from God. We let things get in the way of our faith, which blocks the power that God has given us through faith. Whatever in your life that might be between you and God — move it out of the way! You don’t need to live wondering whether God is there during hard times. You might say, ‘Well, you don’t understand. I‘ve had a horrible childhood. All these sad and bad things happened to me. Where was God? Where were you?’ Looking at God with resentment and hatred turns your faith cold. You’re mad, you’re angry, you’re frustrated. There is no way we can understand everything we go through. God doesn’t always reveal this to us. Only God understands our trials. It’s not always easy to praise God through our human minds, especially amidst trials and difficulties. Faith is something that is of the Lord, living in the spirit is very different than looking for human-based answers. One question to think about is, do you believe in the Bible? Do you believe the Bible is the infallible “Word” of God? If we believe the Bible is 100 percent correct, we have to recognize that the “Word” is truth. We must know from His Word that He is a good God. Before we can ever realize or understand that God is with us, we must understand that we can look around and see what He created. Creationism is the only method of existence. Those seeking God need to know that; the reason is that other theories do not add up to the timeline of the Bible. This is a crucial fallacy in evolution and it is a lie from the enemy, not of God. Some people say this world has existed for billions of years. They teach us this in school. According to the Word of God, this is not true. This timeline is neither of nor from God. According to my studies at Bible seminaries and self-research, the earth dates back between 6,000 and 10,000 years. As the Bible accurately portrays, there are and will be false teachers and false prophets among us. Jesus warned about it. “Then many false prophets will rise up and deceive many” (Matthew 24:11). The fact that there are many false teachers among us and that many people listen to them is simply a fulfillment of the Word of Christ. Jesus also said to beware of false prophets, who come in sheep’s clothing, but “inwardly they are ravenous wolves” (Matthew 7:15). False teachers are false not only in doctrine but also in their appearance. They pretend to be something they are not. On the inside, they are vicious wolves who kill and scatter the sheep. But they wear a sheepskin to trick the sheep. God in all His glory told us through His Word that these things would happen and they are happening. Is God with us? Yes, God is with us. A God that cared that much about His people surely is with us until the end of the ages. We cannot blame a good God for tragedies and things that evil men do. We can rest assured that God will set things right. Genesis 1:1 says that in the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth. Look around at the evidence. “The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament shows His handiwork. Day unto day utters speech, and night unto night reveals knowledge” (Psalms 19:1-2). Do you understand and realize that God wants you to see Him? The Bible says He does. Psalms 98:2 says, “The Lord has made known His salvation; His righteousness He has revealed in the sight of the nations.” God revealed Himself through His own creation (Romans 1:20) and through His Word. All Scripture is inspired by God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness (2 Timothy 3:16). James, a man history records as the brother of Jesus, tells us that if we draw near to God, He draws near to us (James 4:8). For what more could we ask? Does that give you a picture of being cuddled? It should — God longs to cuddle you in His arms. Jesus died with arms wide open. Run to Him and let Him embrace you. Don’t wait another day! Realize the power of prayer. Prayer is when we humbly come before the Lord and have a conversation with Him. Prayer is very important because we learn more about God through our own words to him. Prayer is essential for good times and bad times. We must never forget the power of prayer. Finally, with His Holy Spirit living in us, His nature gradually overtakes our own. As that happens, others will begin to discover where God is by knowing you. Your very life is a testament to the evidence of God! God is in your heart. This is the key, the answer, if you believe in God and the Bible. Things won’t always make sense; however, we can rest assured that God has not left us. If God won’t walk out on us, we shouldn’t walk out on Him. Being angry and full of self-reliance and blaming God when you get drunk may seem logical to the world. But in the Spirit, there’s life; in the Spirit, there’s wisdom, and in the Spirit, there’s love. No matter what happens in this life, as there is punishment, there will be rewards. God loves you! He died in our place “God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us” (Romans 5:8). He rose from the dead “Christ died for our sins... He was buried... He was raised on the third day, according to the Scriptures... He appeared to Peter, then to the twelve. After that, He appeared to more than five hundred…” (1 Corinthians 15:3-6). Jesus is the only way to God “Jesus said to him, ‘I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father, but through me’” (John 14:6). We can rest in solid faith that God is with us. I don’t know about you, but I’m sticking with the Lord. He brought me out of a very abusive childhood and through all the scrapes and bruises. God is there — we cannot blame Him for the evil acts of cowardly men. God gave us a choice. He didn’t want robots serving Him out of His will; rather, in His love and perfection, God wanted our will to be in service to Him. With choice, there has to be that which is opposed to good. It wouldn’t be a choice if there weren’t other options. God has even given atheists the ability to deny Him through the power of choice. God bless you all. I pray for anyone who is going through something in their lives, something they feel no one cares about. I can’t speak for every Christian but I can say that I do care. I hate to see people hurting. It is a part of life but I don’t wish hardships on anyone. The Lord is creator and the king of kings; He will make it right! If you believe in the Bible, if you believe in God, make no doubt about it — He will make it right! By: J.Cyr D.C.A (C) 2013
