Conservatives are something else, it goes without saying there is a deeper meaning behind them rallying around racists day in and day out. Several of the right wing's modern day heroes have turned out to be a blatant racist. After the Washington Post published a story quoting Bundy''s unaware racist rant. He went onto Alex Jones radio program, inforwars, trying to clarify his comments, however, he lied. Alex asked him about the 'picking cotton' paraph in the paper, and because the video did not surface until after his interview with Alex Jones. Bundy claimed he never mentioned anything about "blacks picking cotton." Alex surprisingly, and rightfully so, sounded shocked. It was as though the Washington Post lied on Bundy. However, after his interview with Alex Jones, Media Matters released the videotape showing him saying, in his own words, what the Washington Post quoted in the article, on Mr. Bundy. Sick spiritual bastard Cliven Bundy has the balls to blame MLK for his comments. On Friday, Bundy claimed Martin Luther King did not do his job. Apparently because of the systematic racism he possesses, it somehow falls on you guessed, the black man. Cliven Bundy: "If people thought my comments were racist, it's MLK's fault.(3)."
The ignorance on the far-right knows no bounds. First, Hannity and his crew staunchly defended a law breaker. Bundy, who said he does not recognize the federal government as 'even existing,' skipped out of paying his grazing fees for nearly 20 years. At this point, his bill is in excess of $1 million. Has that stopped the right from supporting him, of course not. You see, so long as he is defiant to the federal government, they were elated to be associated with his likeness.
As a matter of fact, Sean Hannity and others all but promoted the escalation of the fiasco by broadcasting half the truth on his program. I say half truth because no one had the sense to contact the government and see what all the fuss was over. Moreover, why did they not care to find out? Because to them, Conservatives, it did not matter, so long as Bundy was against the federal government and he had many guns and militias supporting him. Who cares?
Cliven Bundy: “I want to tell you one more thing I know about the Negro,” he said. Mr. Bundy recalled driving past a public-housing project in North Las Vegas, “and in front of that government house the door was usually open and the older people and the kids — and there is always at least a half a dozen people sitting on the porch — they didn’t have nothing to do. They didn’t have nothing for their kids to do. They didn’t have nothing for their young girls to do.
“And because they were basically on government subsidy, so now what do they do?” he asked. “They abort their young children, they put their young men in jail, because they never learned how to pick cotton. And I’ve often wondered, are they better off as slaves, picking cotton and having a family life and doing things, or are they better off under government subsidy? They didn’t get no more freedom. They got less freedom.(2)."
