Sgt. Bergdahl Released.
The release of Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl is starting to raise eyebrows, due to the fact that, the soldiers within his unit tell a different story than the one he has told. That is to say, instead of being captured, he may have walked away from his duty station. If so, that is desertion and shameful at best. However, his frame of mind and reasoning remain unknown. Therefore, I do not want to speculate too much on this issue. According to many, Bergdahl is not a war hero, he is a deserter. I can only hope the release of the terrorists at Gitmo result in a peaceful future. Most, voice concern that these former Taliban detainees will return to the battlefield and conduct terror operations as their hatred for America may have increased from being detained for 12 years without charges or access to legal counsel to challenge their detention. If these people were criminals, they should have been charged with something and convicted. However, that was not the case. We cannot keep people detained for 12 years because we do not like them.
