Disgusted, I am flat out disgusted that a member of the Missouri State National Guard would refer, while on duty, to African Americans as 'niggers.' Being in the U.S. Military, we're expected to maintain the highest level of professionalism. Clearly, there is a pattern of racism, bigotry and inadequate leadership in Missouri. The guardsman should face reprimand for his behavior. Although, I highly doubt that will happen. The residence of Ferguson, Missouri are still rightly upset over the shooting death on unarmed teen Micheal Brown; shot to death by a Ferguson police officer. Initially, the cop asked Brown to stop 'walking in the street,' however, reportedly there is no sidewalk rather a narrow street. Brown allegedly, like kids do, essentially told the officer off, enough to set off the cop. Some policemen believe you can never respond to their "authority", and if you do, you must be shown a lesson which goes back to the guardsman, we must hold each other accountable for the way we speak and treat people; especially while on the job.
